Nigeria will regain its position as pride of Africa, says Obi The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi says Nigeria will regain its pride position in Africa,  if he is elected  as president in 2023. Obi said this in his tweet to commend his Tanzanian supporter who placed the party’s flag on mount Kilimanjaro. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a Tanzanian LP supporter, identified as OGersh, climbed the Africa’s tallest mountain, Kilimanjaro, for 10 and a half hours to mount the party’s flag at the Uhuru Peak. Obi commended him for his efforts and said, “thank you for taking our OBIdient message to the peak of mount Kilimanjaro. “It must have been a tough journey going up there for a noble sacrifice. “I assure you and every Nigerian that under my watch, Nigeria will regain its position as the pride of Africa,” Obi said. A school in Bauchi State, the Yakubu Bauchi College of Islamic Studies with over 1500 students has no furniture or a functional toilet. These facts were brought to light by TrackaNG, a non-government organisation that enables citizens to collaborate and track capital projects in their community, on Tuesday. The  NGO shared photos of the dilapidated school facilities on its social media page and called on the Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, to renovate the school located in the Toro Local Government Area of the state. Nigwomen said, “All the classrooms structures have been damaged except one. In 2021, the school received N20m from the government for innovation and they only renovated one block of two classrooms without providing furniture. “The school has over 1500 students and there are no available furniture or teaching materials.
